Disabilities Recognized by the Social Security Administration
Disabilities Recognized by the Social Security Administration
Both physical and mental disabilities are recognized by the Social Security Administration. To be eligible for social security disability benefits, your condition must prevent you from working full-time, last or be expected to last one year, or be life-threatening. A claim for benefits must be supported by the results of an objective test performed by your physician.

Some common causes of disability include: Bipolar Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Schizophrenia, Severe Anxiety, Severe Depression, Amputation, Brain/Head Injury, back pain, Cancer, Chronic Respiratory Illness, Diabetes, Digestive Disorders, Epilepsy, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis, Neurogenic Disorders, Parkinson’s Disease, Arthritis, Sickle Cell Anemia, and Stroke. Any other mental or physical disability that meets the standard set forth by the SSA may qualify you to receive social security disability benefits.

If your disability prevents you from working and your application has been denied by the Social Security Administration, call Ross & Ross at (814) 274-8612. We will fight for the benefits you have earned.
